    POWER RANGERS #16 Review

Power Rangers #16 is published by BOOM! Studios, written by Ryan Parrott, illustrated by Franceso Mortarino, coloured by Raul Angulo and lettered by Ed Dukeshire.

Print copies are available on February 16, 2022, exclusively at local comic book shops or at the BOOM! Studios webstore. Digital copies can be purchased from the usual content providers.

    Synopsis

The Omega Rangers travel back to Safehaven to keep an eye on the rest of the galaxy, while Eternity Point falls under the supervision of a new assistant. As the Blue Emissary departs and the remains of three Emissaries are laid to rest, the universe seems relatively safe for now, but how long can that peace last before it’s shattered?

    Review

The final chapter of one of the most epic events ever committed to print is here! The Eltarian War has come to its end and all once again seems calm in the universe… or is it?

The battle to the death on the moon between Zordon, Lord Zedd and Zartus reaches its dramatic conclusion with a surprising duo forming, but what are the reasons behind this? Is it all part of a scheming plan? Back on what we used to call Earth or what is left of it the final Empyreal has fallen and the Power Rangers stand strong once again but they are battle scared and weary and it’s time to regroup under the watchful eyes of the Omega Rangers. Something dark is brewing and although this might be the end of the Eltarian War I think the battle may well have just begun.

The Eltarian War arc between the different Power Rangers titles has been one the best events I’ve ever read. It has everything: action; emotion and twists galore. Ryan Parrott has become one of the stand out comic writers of his generation. The man could write the phone book and it would be interesting to me. Here Parrott has crafted a multiverse of stories which are so intricately woven together that I don’t know how he keeps track. I would love to see this play out on the screen at some point as it definitely has that epic scale.

The illustrations from Franceso Mortarino and colours by Raul Angulo have been phenomenal throughout this story arc. Working in tandem, they have captured each and every word from the script and brought this epic story to life in a way that only this creative team could have done.

I am glad that I was able to experience this series and it was an honor to be able to review it, I am looking forward to see what comes next for the Rangers as I don’t think we are done yet.

    Verdict

Awe inspiring and visually fantastic. The creative team has created a book which is continually breathtaking to read. Even if you aren’t a Power Rangers fan you should be reading this!
