There is no stopping Sonic now. Paramount revealed today that a third Sonic The Hedgehog film is being developed which is fantastic news. But, there’s more. On top of that, Idris Elba’s Knuckles will be getting his own live action spin-off series which will air on the streaming service Paramount+.
That’s pretty much all there is to know at the moment. Sonic 2 might give us some hints as to what we can expect in the future. But for now, we’re completely in the dark. Ben Schwartz also took to Instagram to celebrate the news. You can check out what Sonic himself had to say below:
With more from Sonic’s world on the way, what can we expect next? Shadow? Metal Sonic? What about Super Sonic? There are so many possibilities and we can’t wait to see what’s next for Sonic and his friends. Of course, we still have Sonic The Hedgehog 2 to get through first and we’re not entirely sure what’s in store. All we can do is wait.
Here’s a reminder of what we can expect in the upcoming Sonic sequel.
After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is eager to prove he has what it takes to be a true hero. His test comes when Dr. Robotnik returns, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search for an emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails, and together they embark on a globe-trotting journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands. From the filmmakers behind The Fast and the Furious and Deadpool, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2 stars James Marsden, Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, and Jim Carrey returning, alongside new additions Shemar Moore, with Idris Elba as the voice of Knuckles, and Colleen O’Shaughnessey as the voice of Tails.
