Over the weekend we brought you the news that The CW’s Gotham Knights series is currently casting for a number of Bat-Family characters. Now we have a better idea when to expect cameras to roll on the series’ pilot.
Former Gotham executive producer Danny Cannon has taken to social media to confirm his involvement with the show. In his brief post to Instagram Cannon posted an image of Gotham City with the caption “Principal Photography to begin in April 2022”.
Fans will also know Cannon for his work on the Epix – and soon to be HBO Max – series Pennyworth which focusses on a young Alfred Pennyworth before his time caring for Bruce Wayne.
An updated synopsis for the series declares: In the wake of Bruce Wayne’s murder, his rebellious adopted son forges an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they are all framed for killing the Caped Crusader. And as the city’s most wanted criminals, this renegade band of misfits must fight to clear their names. But in a Gotham with no Dark Knight to protect it, the city descends into the most dangerous it’s ever been. However, hope comes from the most unexpected of places as this team of mismatched fugitives will become its next generation of saviors.
With only two months until cameras roll we are expecting casting for the series to be announced in the next few weeks.
