Here’s one we never saw coming… overnight Deadline has reported that HBO Max has begun development on a Wonder Twins movie with Black Adam writer Adam Sztykiel on board to write and direct.
Aside from his recent work with Dwayne Johnson on July’s Black Adam, Sztykiel collaborated with the studio as a writer on films including Due Date, Rampage, Scoob! and the upcoming We’re the Millers 2. He is perhaps best known as the creator of the NBC comedy series, Undateable.
The Wonder Twins are a pair of shapeshifting aliens – Zan and Jayna – who were first introduced in the 1970s via Hanna-Barbera’s animated television series The All-New Super Friends Hour. They later made the leap in to the pages of DC Comics and most recently fronted their own series from writer Mark Russell.
Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey will produce the upcoming film for Temple Hill.
