Over the weekend the crew of HBO Max’s upcoming Batgirl were back out on the streets of Glasgow. Some fresh photos from the set gave us our first look at Michael Keaton’s Batman, or perhaps his stunt double, in what appeared to be a scene with J.K. Simmonds as Commissioner Gordon.
Now a new video (spotted by @BatgirlFilm) from the set has given us a much better idea about the scene which the crew was filming when the photos were taken. Watch the full video in the player below:
As you can see the scene features Simmonds Gordon sporting his flashback ginger hair. We’ve previously seen him shooting scenes with the actor playing young Barbara Gordon and his wife whilst sporting this look. Those scenes have included what appears to be an attack on the Gordon family town house.
It appears that scene will likely end with Keaton’s Batman rescuing the young Barbara from the blaze, putting her on the path to become a vigilante of her own.
Directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, Batgirl is written by Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey, The Flash) and produced by Kristin Burr. Starring as Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl is Leslie Grace. The film co-stars J.K. Simmons, Michael Keaton and Brendan Frasier.
The film is rumoured to release later this year.
