    MAGIC #11 Review

Magic #11 is published by BOOM! Studios, written by Jed Mackay, illustrated by Ig Guara, coloured by Arianna Consonni and lettered by Ed Dukeshire.

Print copies will be available from 9th February 2022 direct from Boom! Studios or from your local comic book store, digital copies will be available to download from the usual content providers.

    Synopsis

After paying the ultimate price to defeat the mad god, Marit Lage, Planeswalkers Ral Zarek, Kaya, and Vraska return to Ravnica… and the plane closes behind them! Now a new trio of Planeswalkers – the combustible Chandra Nalaar, the monster tracker Garruk Wildspeaker, and a debuting, mysterious Planeswalker – are locked out of Ravnica, and must find their way back!

But even as they gain foes and friends in new corners of the Multiverse, things are worse there than anyone could imagine… as they uncover the plot of an old enemy to manipulate aether on a scale never seen before!

    Review

After the end of the last issue just when I thought there was nothing left for the creative team to give us a new chapter with new characters and possibly an even greater threat.

After the fall out of the last issue the battle between the Planeswalkers Ral Zarek, Kaya, and Vraska gave everything they had to finally rid the planet of Merit Lage leaving them going back to Ravinca with the hope that all is at peace once again, but something is rumbling on the horizon with three new Planeswalkers wanting to make contact, Chandra Nalaar, Garruk Wildspeaker, and a mysterious Planeswalker but they aren’t the only ones looking to get back to Ravinca and not everyone’s intentions are good.

Once again Jed Mackay has written another story that captures the true Magic The Gathering lore with a new chapter that is promising to be the most exciting yet full of tense action and cliff hanger endings, I definitely can’t wait for the next issue.

Ig Guara is for me one of the best illustrators in comics at the moment, each issue he brings eye catching imagination triggering illustrations combining with Arianna Consonni colourings using the most electrifying colours to bring the next chapter to life on the pages.

    Verdict

A welcome return to Ravinca with a new exciting arc with new characters and new dangers. I am enjoying more and more being able to visually explore the MTG multiverse through the eyes of the creative team and long may it continue.
