Last week officially marked the one-year anniversary of Star Wars: The High Republic. The time has flown by and in that year we’ve had an insane amount of content ranging from comics, young adult and adult novels, as well as audio books and middle-grade books. All of these wonderful stories have added to the huge narrative that is Phase One. Here’s the exciting thing, Phase One isn’t even over yet. There are still a few more releases scheduled this year before we can wave goodbye to this vast and immersive story that takes place 200 years before the prequels. The High Republic showed us the Galactic Republic at the height of its power which allowed us to see the Jedi in a new light… And things were indeed very different. But get ready to journey back even further into Star Wars’ history as we prepare for Phase Two.
Star Wars: The High Republic Anniversary Special confirmed that Phase Two of this transmedia extravaganza is well and truly on its way and will launch in October of 2022. New stories and creators have been teased for this new Phase, entitled Quest of the Jedi, which will actually take place 150 years before the events of The High Republic Phase One. So, Phase Two is a prequel to the first Phase- Light of the Jedi. As of now, a few new collaborators have been confirmed including Zoraida Córdova, Tessa Gratton, George Mann, and Lydia Kang.
Not much is known about this Quest of the Jedi Phase. However, the Anniversary Special did reveal that Charles Soule will be working on a new series that will explore the origins of Porter Engle, a legendary Jedi also known as the Blade of Bardotta.
As Phase One comes to an end, we’ll be sure to keep you posted regarding any further developments. For now, the end begins with Claudia Gray’s The Fallen Star which is out now. Here are the other key titles for the finale of Phase One:
