Cyrano is just over a month away which also means that Valentines Day is almost upon us. The perfect Valentines Day movie this year is, without a doubt, Cyrano. It has music, dancing, love, poetry, heartbreak, and a deeply intense love triangle. Did we mention that Peter Dinklage sings and participates in some fantastic sword fights? What else could you possibly need this Valentines Day- Well, consider it a late Valentines Day gift as the film will officially be released on Februrary 25th.
As Cyrano‘s release draws closer, Universal Pictures have been taking us behind-the-scenes with various featurettes. This week, we got a brand new feaurette that dives into the music and beautiful choreography of Cyrano. This short clip gives a small glimpse into what Cyrano has to offer, as well as the process of capturing the raw performances and the stunning and unique dance routines that help separate Cyrano from other musicals.
Director Joe Wright re-imagines Rostand’s timeless love story in a sublime symphony of music, poetry and romance. Whether dazzling the crowds with his peerless wit or thrilling them with his courageous swordplay in a dual, Cyrano (Peter Dinklage) is a proud officer of the revered King’s Guard, a romantic poet, and secretly in love with his luminous friend Roxanne (Haley Bennett). Convinced his appearance renders him unworthy of her love, when Roxanne falls in love at first sight with handsome new recruit Christian (Kelvin Harrison, Jr.), Cyrano devises a way to convey his feelings through Christian’s hand to Roxanne’s heart, creating a delicate love triangle that must reveal its secrets before the onset of war.
