Master assassin Fennec Shand is arguably one of the biggest stars to come out from Disney’s various Star Wars shows. Just look at Fennec’s history before The Book of Boba Fett. She took on the Bad Batch, fought Mando, escaped death, helped defeat Moff Gideon and helped Boba Fett claim his thrown. She even went up against Cad Bane. Not many who do are able to walk away… Well, apart from Fennec and Boba which is very interesting considering the show revolves around them. Could Cad Bane make an appearance in the future?
Back to the point. Fennec has quickly become a very important character within the vast Star Wars mythos. That also means that the wonderful Ming-Na Wen is now an important part of Star Wars. Wen can certainly add that to her extensive repertoire. Disney heroine Fa Mulan, S.H.I.E.L.D Agent Melinda May, and now an elite mercenary who is feared across the galaxy. Quite the career, wouldn’t you agree?
In a featurette released recently, Ming-Na Wen discussed her role in The Book of Boba Fett and what it means to be part of this incredible franchise. As a huge Star Wars fan in general, it’s always great seeing how these roles impact an actor, especially when they are fans themselves. What’s even more exciting is that Fennec’s story has just begun. As a new member of the universe, there’s so much potential, so we think it’s safe to say that we can definitely expect to see more of Fennec in the future.
