Review
For me the best Buffy is the classic TV series Buffy and I’d love to see more of it, this collected legacy edition brings just that set towards the end run during the fifth and sixth seasons this collection goes deeper into the story arc giving you the chance to relive the story over again. The book shows young Buffy coming to terms with Slayer life and the separate stresses that brings all whilst dealing with her own family hardships.
We are also shown the beginnings of two other iconic characters, we see Giles on his journey to become a watcher and we see Angel, the iconic vampire with a soul character we all know and love. For me personally I found it fascinating to get a bit of a prologue story to such iconic characters, putting more meat on the bones of their stories.
I enjoyed the story collection as a whole which was expertly written by Tom Fassbender, he really captured the true essence of the iconic story all while giving it a modern day relevancy. The true Buffy fans will find this collection a true pleasure to read as more of a prequel collection, a well written flashback.
The artist style of Cliff Richards is pretty much as close to the series as could be possible in comic form, with detailed illustrations with vibrant colouring this really makes the comic a visual pleasure to read.
Verdict
A great collection of stories, good for those fans who want to either recap or catch up with the story, also gives more sotry to the main characters we already know, a recommended read for any Buffy fan.
