Review
In an off shoot of the popular horror comic series Stray Dogs, Stray Dogs: Dog Days goes a bit deeper into the character back stories and uncovers the mysteries and answers questions. In a series of short stories you get to know the stray dogs story as each are introduced, along with a shady character that keeps appearing making me think there is much more sinister goings on here all is definitely not as it seems, the next issue will be interesting to say the least.
I haven’t come across the work of Tony Fleecs as I missed stray dogs the first time (but I will be hunting it down after this). Tony brings an emotional selection of stories that is guaranteed to pull at your heart strings, he doesn’t seem to focus on the normal graphic horror instead focusing on the mind and getting the reader to feel every line they read making for a far more immersive reading experience.
Trish Forstner brings a unique feel to the illustrations and brings the words on the pages to life, as this is more of an introduction to the backstory of already known characters, this book still gets you asking questions over what you are seeing unfold infront of you, I am definitely looking forward to see more in the next issue.
