Signature Entertainment presents Gulliver Returns on Digital Platforms 27th December.

    Synopsis

Gulliver Returns is a fun and adventure-filled re-imagining of the classic Gulliver’s Travels story from the team behind Zootopia, Big Hero 6 and Rio 2. World traveller, giant and adventurer – Gulliver- is invited to return to Lilliput, the town he previously saved from the enemy fleet of the neighbouring Blefuscu. But when Gulliver returns as an ordinary man, the town folks are less than welcoming… Meanwhile, the invincible Blefuscu armada is at the gates of the city and threatening with another attack. Gulliver will have to prove that it is not necessary to be a giant to do great things, but that a little bit of luck, bravery, friendship and sword skills are all you need!

    Review

As much as I love a good action flick it is always good to sit back and enjoy a good bit of wholesome fun. Gulliver Returns is exactly that film filled to the brim with feel good fun for all the family. With it being from the creative team that brought films such as Big Hero 6 (one of my favourite animations of recent times) you know that you’ll get an enjoyable watch, the film is fun but not overly cheesy with a good amount of action and comedy to keep all ages entertained.

Although the film is alot of fun a deep rooted message runs throughout as the villagers of Lilliput look to Gulliver to save them from the Blefuscu invasion, the film unfolds with the hilarious story of Gulliver preparing the villagers for the expending onslaught which most definitely doesnt stick to the usual plan with Gulliver and Squeak rallying up the rag tag recruits to protect the village once and for all.

The message that comes across is being a giant isn’t always in the physical sense those around you can make you feel like a giant and you don’t need to be a giant to achieve your goals, I loved the positive message the film gives, you can’t help but smile as you watch.

The different characters in the film are great, my favourite being the King of Lilliput, who shall we say isn’t your normal King. Director Ilya Maksimov really hits the nail on the head with this one, Ilya and the rest of the creative team have done a great job reimagining a classic family tale.

    Verdict

All in all a good family fun film, where I am sure all of the family will enjoy throughout, just enough mix of slapstick comedy and action to keep you entertained.
