Synopsis
It’s all been building up to this, the inevitable showdown between the Power Rangers and their allies against the biggest threat they’ve ever faced – the Empyreals. And yet, the shocking conclusion of the first year of Mighty Morphin may have ended the war before it even began by decimating the very heart of the Power Rangers. Can the Rangers move past their betrayals in order to save Earth and the universe itself? Acclaimed Power Rangers writer Ryan Parrott, along with artist Marco Renna, debuts the Power Rangers event that will decide the fate of every Power Ranger across the universe – THE ELTARIAN WAR!
Review
This is what we the readers have been waiting for the start of The Eltarian War, each issue from the Power Rangers multiverse has been building up to this with the different story arcs coming to this point.
With Zordon gone now is the time for attack, the Rangers are on high alert as the oncoming attack begins. An unlikely alliance between Lord Zedd and the Supreme Commander has formed to take down the Rangers once and for all, but for how long can they work together? What agenda does Lord Zedd have? Whatever it is it certainly won’t be good. The battle has begun in what may turn out to be the biggest battle ever seen in Power Rangers before, it’s exciting but also slightly worrying as to what will happen after? We may be looking at a completely different Power Rangers Universe.
Whatever is coming, certainly from the look of this issue, I am more than hyped up to see the results, Ryan Parrott is bringing all my Christmases and birthdays together with this arc I am beyond excited to see it all pan out.
Ryan Parrott never lets me down, issue after issue he brings a story that captivates and triggers the imagination and takes you deep into the story. After each book I am left wanting more cou ting the days until the next release, Marco Renna’s illustrations are the perfect partner to Ryan’s story, each word is brought to life on the page with stunning artwork and bold colours, each page is a marvel to look at, I personally don’t think you could have picked a better creative team to work with this arc.
Verdict
You could say I’m a bit of a fan of the Power Rangers franchise, Ryan Parrott has reignited my love of Rangers with his comic series and long may it continue. If you haven’t yet read any of the series you definitely should do, even if you’re not a Power Ranger fan it is still a great comic series to pick up.
