Have you ever wondered what life would be like as the Boy Wonder himself? The brilliant Jeffrey Brown takes us on a brand new adventure that puts Damian Wayne against his greatest foe yet… A rivalry akin to Batman and The Joker. Well, maybe not that intense. Batman and Robin and Howard sees Damian adjust to school life… But he’s immediately tested when he decides to go head-to-head against the school’s brightest pupil, Howard.
To Damian Wayne, there is nothing more important than protecting the streets of Gotham City as Robin. But when he makes a critical mistake while out on patrol, Damian finds himself benched. And what’s more, Damian’s dad, Bruce Wayne—a.k.a. Batman—decides that starting over in a new school will be just the distraction Damian needs from his superhero routine.
Certain that Gotham Metro Academy has nothing to teach him, Damian is completely unprepared for the challenge he finds in Howard—The smartest and most athletic kid in school. The boys’ rivalry is instantaneous and fierce… And both are sure only one of them can be the best in their class.

What follows is a funny story of rivalry, friendship, and mystery from bestselling author and illustrator Jeffrey Brown.
I had the absolute pleasure of reading Batman and Robin and Howard this week and it is a wonderful read. Even as an adult, there is still so much to enjoy and I think a book like this offers two different experiences. As a child, there are definitely elements that will help guide them especially when it comes to conflicts and how to resolve them. Even when it comes to Batman and Robin, not everything can be solved with fear and a pair of fists. Then for the adults, there’s this opportunity to look back and reminisce. To a degree, it’s actually nostalgic. There were so many brief moments that took me back to my school life when I felt like both Damian and Howard.

I’m so used to consuming the hard-hitting and dark stories revolving around the Caped Crusader and Boy Wonder. It was actually nice to have a story that was significantly less intense and allowed Batman to be a very typical father, both fun and embarrassing. On top of that, this story allowed Damian to have a somewhat normal school-life, we saw him partaking in school projects, hanging out with friends, and playing videos games. This is a side of Damian that we don’t get to see and Jeffrey Brown was able to make it work brilliantly, bringing the world of Gotham to life with a soft edgy and making Damian a more relatable character for the younger audiences.
Batman and Robin and Howard is a fun, sweet and endearing story about rivalries, friendships, and crime solving. As usual with Batman and Robin, all is not what it seems.
