It’s the Home Sick Pilots vs. the Nuclear Bastards in a final battle of the bands that could well be the final battle of the bands on the planet. No advance tickets, drink tokens available at the door.
Review
Once again my most anticipated comic series returns with another issue and once again they certainly aren’t messing about with this one.
The book begins with the build up to the epic battle between The Nuclear Bastard and The Old House, the build up sees a cat and mouse chase of epic proportions as they snap at the heals of Ami. The only help Ami may have is in the form of Buzz, but is he too late? Ami must face some serious inner questions as she needs to decide what her next step is, can she save the day?
Dan Watters again brings to an end a story arc full of emotion and non stop page turning action, it’s easy to see why Home Sick Pilots is my comic of choice for this year, for me everything about the series was perfect. Throughout the whole series to date I haven’t been able to put each issue down, once you start reading it you just have to finish, it’s near impossible to put down once you start, a symphony of different genres that works so well together.
Casper Wijngaard brings his own unique and extremely talented touch to the illustrations using intense images to really get the story into your imagination, you do feel as though you are living every page the raw emotion just flows through the pages, how can the creative team possibly top this? Where next for the story arc?.
Verdict
Home Sick Pilots remains my go-to comic series. Without doubt my favourite of the year so far. Issue #10 only improves on the intense story getting me more and more excited for the next issue which if this one is anything to go by will be an explosive one thats for sure.
