BATGIRL Directors Discuss Batman’s Involvement In The HBO Max Film

BATGIRL directors Adil el Arbi and Bilall Fallah discuss Batman and the upcoming production on the HBO Max project.

It looks like Gotham’s Dark Knight will be making an appearance in Bilall Fallah and Adil el Arbi’s Batgirl after all…

In a brand new interview with VRT News (translated) the directors have discussed their plans for the film, ahead of tomorrow’s DC FanDome event. Whilst they touch on the Burnside inspiration of the costume, it will be the involvement of another Gotham-based character which will be making headlines.

For the first time, it has been confirmed that Batman’s presence will loom heavily on the film. Though neither director would be drawn on which of the pantheon of Bat-actors will be taking on the role.

Whilst it is possible there could be an announcement at FanDome, it’s more likely the identity of Batman could remain a mystery until after The Flash. DC’s new multiverse on film opens up plenty of opportunities for any of the current Batmen, Ben Affleck, Michael Keaton and Robert Pattinson, to take on the role.

All eyes will be on the Hall of Heroes tomorrow so see what the Batgirl team has to say…

Batgirl is written by Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey, The Flash) and produced by Kristin Burr. The film is rumoured to release in 2022.
