Synopsis
In an underpopulated future Earth, devastated by the dire consequences of the millennium bug, the survival of mankind—and, maybe, of the planet itself—is handled by a small number of people. These are talented scientists who, despite the adverse situation and the stupid feuds that continue to divide the small number of people still alive, try to understand and study what is hidden in the depths of the abyss—something mysterious and dangerous, which could eventually cause an even worse and more destructive catastrophe!
Review
Deep Beyond is a story with a mix of emotions blended together to take the reader on a emotional ride through alternate dimensions and time.
An anomaly has appeared, a virus has wiped out life as we know it, a crack team have been sent to investigate what or even who it is, but are they being sent on a suicide mission? Is this all just a big cover up? Without giving you any spoilers away the story pans out not as it first seems leaving many questions unanswered. This certainly isn’t your normal scary under water story, Deep Beyond offers so much more depth than that with conspiracy theories running throughout its story arc it certainly is a story you need to pay attention to.
It is my first comic encounter of Goy and Andolfo but as a writing team they definitely know how to write a story that keeps you engaged from beginning to end. The illustrations from Broccardo brings a dramatic, highly detailed style with each drawing taking you deeper into the “Deep Beyond”.
Verdict
A thrilling underwater, cross dimensional adventure that really captured my imagination, definitely adding this to my ones to keep an eye out for list.
