Review
My favourite serial killer is back. Vinyl #3 brings back Walter as his battles against the death cult continues in the most bloodiest of fashions.
The arc gets deeper and a whole lot darker as Walter enlists other killers to assist in his mission. His actions are horrific, Doug Wagner portrays him amiably leaving the reader wanting to give him a hug and tell him that everything will be alright. He comes across as a loveable rogue. This issue also dives deeper in to other characters too such as the wannabe serial killer Twins. After three issues it’s great to see Vinyl exploring the wider world more.
This issue seemed to be a whole lot darker and gruesome than previous issues. If there is a pattern emerging then we are in for a wild ride from here on in.
Wagner has brought us an addictive storyline that although quite gorey in places you won’t want to put it down, each page adding more to the experience. Hillyard and Stewart combine once again bringing the gruesome story of Vinyl to life with amazing detail (maybe too much detail!!!) Using dramatic colours and tones really brings over the type of story the creative team are telling.
Verdict
Another great issue adding a great deal to the story arc, if you love your stories with a bit more blood than usual then this will be right up your street so be sure to check it out on release, you won’t be disappointed.
