Legends of Tomorrow season 6 stars Caity Lotz, Dominic Purcell, Nick Zano, Tala Ashe, Matt Ryan, Olivia Swann, Jes Macallan, Adam Tsekhman, Shayan Sobhian, Lisseth Chavez and Raffi Barsoumian. New episodes air Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
Synopsis
Behrad is disappointed because the Legends have forgotten his birthday, so when they track an alien pod to 2024 and wind up on his favorite television sitcom, he thinks it’s really a surprise for him. Feeling guilty, Nate and Zari occupy Behrad by keeping up the ruse by attending a taping of the show while Ava, Spooner and Astra try to find the Alien to get the timeline back on track, which proves challenging. Meanwhile, Mick’s behavior has been a little off, so Sara and Gary become determined to find out what happened. Mick gets some unexpected news from his daughter, Lita (recurring guest star MINA SUNDWALL).
Review
The Legends travel to 2023 this week to stop an alien from taking the centre stage of a stoner sitcom and inevitably changing the future of Behrad.
Behrad has never really been a favourite character of mine since the Legends rewrote history and he joined the team instead of the original Zari. I had felt he did’ent bring anything to the team and was just an awkward addition being this stoner on the ship.
This week however he took center stage due to his love of this show and how much it affected him growing up.
The alien in question is a simple little cute baby who crash landed on the set thanks to Spooner and her trigger happy gunplay. This in turn creates an alternate timeline where Behrad never became a stoner and instead became a successful but ruthless business man who never joined the Legends and as such never got hold of the totem for him and Zari.
It was a decent character piece for Behrad and shows how much a show can influence a person in the real world (theirs or ours) and while he will never really creep into my top 5 Legends heroes I do admit stoner Behrad is much better than stone cold business Behrad.
Nate and Zari leap into action to restore the timeline and they too bond with Zari feeling bad that she reminds Nate of his lost love ‘Z’. This ultimately ends with Zari switching places with Z temporarily, allowing Nate and Z to rekindle their lost relationship. It’s a sweet sentimental moment and great to have the original Zari return to the ship (she was a much more badass character than social media Zari)
On the other side of the plot we have Rory with his daughter Lita only to discover she is pregnant since they last saw each other, he sneaks off to kill the man who got her pregnant only to find himself connecting to the young man and accepting that they will both becoming great parents (something he himself failed to do)
All is not well with Rory however as he soon discovers that he too is pregnant thanks to his sexual encounter with Kayla a few episodes prior, which is honestly prime Legends chaos! I highly doubt anyone had ‘Rory is Pregnant’ on their WTF Legends of Tomorrow Plot Bingo card but if so bravo!
Verdict
Ultimately this was not one of the strongest episodes this season but it did delve deeper into Behrad and why he is the way he is. As well as showing up the frailty of time travel and its effects on the crew. Rory got some more character development too in an absolutely bizarre side plot which how it will quite play out is anyone’s guess!
