Synopsis

As its horrors emanate across America, the Home Sick Pilots must return to the Old James House. Which could be difficult, as they did leave it at the bottom of the ocean.

Review

This issue of Home Sick Pilots goes on a different slant by going into more depth of some of the ghosts who actually haunt Old James House. Ami, who managed to escape the house and is trying to live a normal life again, is struggling to cope with the spirits still trying to pull her back in. As she still feels part of the house, it feels like it doesn’t want to let her go no matter how hard she tries.

There is something heavy boiling away in the background here. From reading the arc so far I really got an uneasy feeling about it, I feel like The Old James House won’t go down without a fight and Ami may well hold the key to stopping it.

Dan Watters again brings a story full of horror, intense anticipation and this one is especially emotional. It genuinely feels like you are living the book as you read, you are hanging on every word. The illustrations from Casper Wijngaard are nothing short of breathtaking, using the right mix of dramatic tones and bold colours really adds atmosphere to the book on the verge of hypnotic.

Verdict

Home Sick Pilots is definitely my favourite comic series of this year by far, it gets better with each issue as I get closer and closer to the edge if my seat with anticipation of what is coming next, if you haven’t yet you really need to pick this up and get involved you won’t regret it.
