Review
To say I’m hooked on the Battlecats story is an understatement. It screams nostalgia with its close similarities to a favourite childhood cartoon of mine. But beyond that it has famous Mad Cave slant which brings with it an action-packed, meaningful story which flows beautifully.
Vol 3 #2 easily carries on the trend of the previous issues bringing more drama and action. At the same time however this issue seems to have more of an emotional side which I really enjoyed, proving that the story isn’t at all one dimensional.
Seeing a different side of the Battlecats team has really brought the story to the next level for me. Seeing Kaleera struggle to cope with past events really adds an unexpected depth to the story.
With every issue writer Mark London provides a stellar story that pulls you in with its multifaceted approach. Camelo’s illustrations are nothing short of phenomenal, bringing each page to life and adding feeling to the words of the story. As in previous issues the colours and tones used are powerful and dramatic keeping the eyes entertained with each page.
Verdict
I am fully invested in the Battlecats story arc and hope for much more to come, it’s the type of story that could have multiple off shoots in the same universe. Bring it on I say. A great read from start to finish, highly recommended reading this as soon as you can.
