Variety has revealed that I May Destroy You star Michaela Coel is joining the MCU with a role in Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
The multi-threat actress/writer/producer/director has reportedly signed on for a top secret role. Rumours are rife that X-Men member Ororo Monroe, aka Storm, will debut in the Marvel sequel. But there are also strong rumours that Wakanda Forever will feature a female villain.
Many will know Coel for creating the E4 series Chewing Gum which won her a BAFTA for Best Female Comedy Performance. In the US Coel is known for the joint BBC/HBO production I May Destroy You which recently scored the star a Best Actress BAFTA.
Directed by Ryan Coogler, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to debut in theatres on July 8, 2022.
