Marvel Studios will finally debut its first ever animated project, What If…?, next month but the studios is already looking ahead to future projects.
In a new interview with Variety, executive producer Victoria Alonso has touched on the studios future plans for the world of animation.
“We’re going to have our animation branch and mini studio, and there will be more to come from that as well,” said Alonso. “We’re super excited about animation, which is my first love.”
What If…? was first announced back at San Diego Comic Con in 2019. The series, which debuts on August 11, will explore the Marvel Multiverse uncovering alternate versions of the MCU’s biggest characters.

Several high profile MCU actors are reprising their roles for What If…?, including the late Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa. Hayley Atwell, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston, Paul Rudd, Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Ruffalo, and Josh Brolin have also been confirmed to take part in the series.
