Review
It was like Christmas Day when Home Sick Pilots #7 landed in my inbox. This series has so far been THE comic to read and my top comic of the year by far. So you could say the bar was set extremely high for issue #7. I didn’t have to worry has Watters smashed it out the park once again with another gripping entry to the series.
The story follows Ami and the others as they try to outrun the house which has controlled them for so long. Their wish to be free is strong, but the challenge may well be too much for the group as you can’t outrun the inevitable. The power of the house is strong and possibly its want is stronger than theirs.
Watters has once again brought us a story you can’t put down. Page-by-page the story gets more and more intense, breaking the readers heart when they realise it’s the last page. It’s action-packed from the beginning with an interesting ending making which certainly left me thinking there are big things to come.
This series has surprised me from start, cramming in every emotion possible and layering it with action and horror in elements to huge success.
The illustrations from Wijngaard honestly belong in a gallery. Simply stunning illustrations filled with dramatic colours and tones making each page a visual symphony for the eyes.
Verdict
I make no secret of the fact that I love Home Sick Pilots. Issue #7 has kept this flame burning with the promise of major things to come, I can’t wait.
