You’ll be relieved to know that Clifford does not look like a Dark Souls boss. But you can’t blame us for being pretty concerned, especially with how the lovable pooch looked on set. But today, we got our first decent look at Clifford The Big Red Dog with a fantastic trailer that proved that Clifford knows how to make an enterance. He’s not your typical dog so making a big enterance is practically guarenteed.
For us, it was a trip down memory lane. We can remember sitting down and watching Clifford and the gang whenever they appeared on the TV. We can also remember selecting to watch Clifford’s Really Big Movie back in 2004 on a flight to Florida. Isn’t it strange how some memories just stick with you?
Check out the official synopsis below
When middle-schooler Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp) meets a magical animal rescuer (John Cleese) who gifts her a little, red puppy, she never anticipated waking up to find a giant ten-foot hound in her small New York City apartment. While her single mom (Sienna Guillory) is away for business, Emily and her fun but impulsive uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall) set out on an adventure that will keep you on the edge-of-your-seat as our heroes take a bite out of the Big Apple. Based on the beloved Scholastic book character, Clifford will teach the world how to love big!
Feast your eyes on the first trailer for Clifford The Big Red Dog which promises plenty of laughs and Clifford being his regular mischievous self. But we can forgive him since he’s pretty adorable.
What do you think of Clifford’s live-action debut? Let us know in the comments. Clifford The Big Red Dog will be coming to cinema in the UK and in Ireland sometime in 2021. We’ll be sure to keep you posted once we have the official release date.
