Great news for Naomi fans as The CW has confirmed that it has picked up the Ava DuVernay pilot to series.
No news yet on whether the series has been picked up for a full season or a half-season. Naomi is also missing from The CW’s recently announced fall schedule. This could indicate the show is being saved for midseason, or the network may be waiting for more episodes before committing to a time slot.
The news of Naomi‘s pickup comes at a bittersweet time for DC fans. It has also been confirmed that the network will not be moving forwards with the planned Black Lightning spin-off, Painkiller. Warner Bros. TV Group President Channing Dungey told Deadline that the series “came in really solidly.” We’re hearing that the series may be shopped to other WarnerMedia properties including HBO Max.
We’ll keep you posted on when Naomi will debut on screens.
