Showtime has given fans a first look at the returning Dexter with a enticing new teaser trailer. The limited-series is yet to confirm a return date but is expected to hit screens later in 2021.
The new season, which sees Michael C. Hall return in the lead role, picks up sometime after the season 8 finale which aired back in 2013. The Golden Globe- and Emmy-winning series ended controversially, with Dexter heading into the woods to live in isolation. But if this trailer is anything to go by then it seems like the new lifestyle didn’t stick.

Judging by the woodsy landscape, Dexter remains in the upstate New York town of Iron Lake and is ready to embrace his dark passenger once again.
The revival series recently tapped The Morning Show actor David Magidoff in a leading role. Magidoff and Hall will be joined by Clancy Brown, Julia Jones, Alano Miller, Johnny Sequoyah and Jack Alcott.
Clyde Davis returns as showrunner for the 10-episode limited series revival of Dexter, with Clancy Brown and David Magidoff among those joining the cast. Davis and Michael C. Hall executive produce with John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Bill Carraro, Scott Reynolds and Marcos Siega. Showtime is the studio.
