Thor: Love and Thunder is quite the mystery at the moment and Russell Crowe has only added to that mystery. He’s gone from Maximus Decimus Meridius (you know the rest) to Jor-El, Javert and now… he is set to play the almighty Zeus in Thor: Love and Thunder. Yes you read that correctly. Russell Crowe may be joining the MCU as Zeus the ruler of Olympus and God of the sky and thunder – Seems fitting doesn’t it?
When talking to the Melbourne-based breakfast radio show JOY Breakfast With The Murphys, the actor revealed that he was gearing up for his “last day of Zeusing about.” While it isn’t the most conventional reveal, it does open some very interesting doors.
The arrival of the thunderbolt hurling God allows the Olympians to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Whether this leads to something in the future is a complete mystery so we’ll have to wait and see. Considering that Crowe wasn’t onset for long, it’s safe to assume that his role will be very minimal. Then again, it’s also possible that Russell Crowe has thrown us a curve ball. He could be playing a completely different character. Unfortunately we’ll have to wait… unless someone gets some sneaky shots straight from the set.
