Image Comics upcoming release Geiger has reportedly sold out before it has even hit the shelves. Early demand for the release has depleted stocks of the initial first printing run with plans now set for second printing.
In response to the immense demand Image has given the go ahead on two cover variations both will feature the artwork of Gary Frank, one will feature Geiger’s chartreuse skull whilst cover b will feature Geiger’s cowled face.
Geiger is set in the years after a nuclear war ravaged the planet where desperate outlaws battle for survival in a world of radioactive chaos. Out past the poisoned wasteland lives a man even the Nightcrawlers and Organ People fear. Some name him Joe Glow, others call him the Meltdown Man. But his name… is Geiger.
In a statement, writer Geoff Johns said “Gary and I are very grateful to the retailers for the support and I’m excited for readers to see Gary cut loose on something entirely original!”
“It’s odd because, for so long, we’ve been immersed in this book without thinking too much about how it will fare in the World. The degree of support, though, is humbling and hugely exciting.” added Frank,
The first print is due to hit comicbook stores Wednesday 7th April with the second print due for release Wednesday 28th April.
A glow in the dark variant will also be available in comicbook stores Wednesday 21st April.
Geiger #1 will also be available in digital format across many digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play.
