Monday morning we woke up to news that Batwoman has cast a brand new Kate Kane. Krypton‘s Wallis Day is taking over the role which was vacated by Ruby Rose at the end of season 1. But whilst Kane’s new role in the show remains a mystery, Rose has commented on the baton being passed to a new actor.
“I’m sorry I didn’t congratulate @wallisday yesterday,” Rose said on her Instagram Story. “I knew about the casting beforehand and didn’t know when it aired so I forgot to. But I’m stoked for her! I’m seeing all the things I’m tagged in with people sad or wondering how I felt…I feel great, I have nothing but good vibes.”
For now we know that Javicia Leslie will remain the series only Batwoman to wear the costume. The return of Kate Kane is possibly set to tie-in to the debut of Black Mask as season 2’s big bad. The story begins to unravel this Sunday when the series returns for the ninth episode of season 2.
Developed by Caroline Dries (The Vampire Diaries), Batwoman stars Javicia Leslie as Ryan Wilder/Batwoman. The series co-stars Dougray Scott, Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson, Nicole Kang, Christina Wolfe and Rachel Skarsten. New episodes air Sunday’s at 8/7c on The CW.
