Whilst there were plenty of surprises in Zack Snyder’s Justice League we think the biggest has to be confirmation that General Swanwick is indeed Martian Manhunter. The character appears in two key scenes in the Snyder Cut and now The Wrap as released a new still of Manhunter in his natural(ish) form.
The Wrap’s report confirms that scenes with Lennix were part of the HBO Max reshoots for Justice League. The report also makes some surprising claims which seem to contradict Snyder’s supposed plans for Manhunter. In recent interviews Snyder has made reference to having prior plans to include Swanwick’s transformation and subsequent reveal as the Martian. But according to The Wrap “Lennix was never booked to film any scenes on the movie, and that Snyder came up with this idea to have Lennix as at some point after Joss Whedon took over the film in May of 2017.”
Regardless of when the idea to include Manhunter came about it’s nice to see another core member of the League appear in the movie. What do you think of his appearance? Let us know in the comments.
Justice League stars Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman and Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. Joining them are Jason Mamoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Victor Stone/Cyborg, and Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash. The film is available to stream now in the UK via Now TV and Sky Cinema.
