Sadly it seems the team at SMYLE won’t be returning for a second season. Nick Frost has confirmed that Amazon Prime has not opted to renew Truth Seekers for a second season.
The series was Frost and Simon Pegg’s first TV outing since cult hit Spaced in the 1990’s. The series saw Frost’s Gus working as a part-time paranormal investigator alongside his new partner Elton (Samson Kayo). The series also starred Emma D’Arcy, Susan Wokoma, Julian Barratt and horror legend Malcolm McDowell.
Frost confirmed the series cancellation via a now deleted post on his Instagram. “Sadly, Truth Seekers will not be returning for a second season. Truth Seekers has not been renewed, which is a massive kick in the willy for me,” he said.
‘We really put our all into this – our heart and soul, and blood in some cases, so to not come back is really sad for us. It’s a shame. I think we had lots of lovely ghost stories to tell – stories that will remain now untold. If you liked the show, thank you. And if you didn’t, are you happy now? Happy now?“
In case you missed the show here’s a look at the trailer:
Neil reviewed the series for us back in 2020 calling it “the perfect mix of horror and comedy.”
