The Bumblebee actress, Hailee Steinfeld, appears to be teasing her involvement in the upcoming Disney+ series Hawkeye. Last year, it was reported that Steinfeld was offered the role. However, the rumors dissolved very quickly and we never got an official confirmation or any teases after that.
Until now, of course.
In the build up to her 24th birthday, the actress posted a rather cryptic picture. Some may assume that it is simply her gearing up for her birthday. We all get excited about our birthday. However, many fans, including us, have taken it as concrete evidence that Hailee is indeed joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Observe the likeness to Kate Bishop, the use of the colour purple, and the bow and arrow emoji on the end. Pretty hard to ignore those signs, right?
There’s more. The directors of the upcoming show, Bert and Bertie, commented with 3 purple hearts. That comment has now been deleted.
For those who don’t know much about Kate Bishop and the Hawkeye show, Jeremy Renner, the original Hawkeye, gives us a good idea as to what we can actually expect:
“What I get to do in the show ultimately is shepherd an amazing character, ultimately a better version of me and the sentiment of that is the fiber of what Hawkeye is, at least what I think Hawkeye is — a superhero without superpowers and I get to teach someone else to be a superhero without super powers.”
