Jeremy Renner is set to return as Hawkeye in Disney+’s new series. However, Hawkeye won’t be alone in this series. He’ll be working alongside Kate Bishop, who hasn’t been casted yet. For those who are unfamiliar, Kate Bishop is the character that becomes the new Hawkeye.
According to Renner:
“What I get to do in the show ultimately is shepherd an amazing character, ultimately a better version of me and the sentiment of that is the fiber of what Hawkeye is, at least what I think Hawkeye is — a superhero without superpowers and I get to teach someone else to be a superhero without super powers.”
What is interesting about this series is that, according to Feige, it will revisit Ronin.
We know a little about what Ronin did throughout those 5 years but we just got a glimpse. What this series will do is reveal more about the pain that plagued Clint and ultimately, follow his quest to redeem himself by mentoring a new hero.
Much like Iron Man, Clint will want to guide a talented individual into becoming something better. I see it as redemption story. All those years killing will definitely have an effect and it’ll be interesting to see how that plays out.
Hawkeye will premiere on Disney+ in fall 2021. However, there is no indication as to how many episodes there are.
