Monsters, Ron Perlman, but more importantly… a Palico!

Monster Hunter

We received the first trailer for Monster Hunter, starring Milla Jovovich, not that long ago and in terms of footage, it was a pleasant surprise. Sure, video game adaptations are often questionable and slated harshly but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy a good trailer. We got monsters and action, consider us pretty happy.

Yesterday, we were treated with a new sneak peak as part of #MonsterMonday. Which is the perfect way to describe a Monday. The short trailer was shared via the official Monster Hunter Instagram account. Check it out below.

Despite the teaser’s length, we got nothing but new footage. New monsters, locations, characters, and vehicles. But, the obvious highlight is our little feline friend- The Palico. What a treat it was to get our first decent look at the best companions a monster hunter could ask for.

Jovovich stars as Captain Artemis who, along with her team of soldiers, finds herself marooned on different planet after driving through an electric storm. Unlike the video games that solely take place on a single fictional world filled with giant weapons, various landscapes, and cats (Palicoes) that can cook and hunt with you, this adaptation appears to bring our world to the Monster Hunter world. We have a feeling this may not sit that well with a lot of Monster Hunter players.

Video game adaptations have a pretty poor history. Could this be different? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
