It looks like production has started for the Disney+ original series Ms. Marvel. After confirming young newcomer actress Iman Vellani would be portraying the titular character, Ms Marvel (also known as Kamala Khan) back in September, there was much anticipation over when the series would begin production amidst a global pandemic. However, it looks like Marvel have given the green light, and the first set photos to arise are certainly stirring up questions.
Filming has taken place in Atlanta, Georgia, and in these photos we see Vellani looking like an everyday Marvel fan, wearing an Avengers shirt and Captain Marvel bike helmet as she cycles through the production set. This looks like we are seeing civilian Kamala Khan, who in the comics is a big fan of the Avengers and of Captain Marvel herself.

In other photos, we see Vellani wearing what looks to be a handmade or shop bought Captain Marvel costume, based on the hero’s look in Avengers: Endgame. This could look to be Kamala Khan’s first attempt at a hero costume before she dons her own Ms. Marvel costume (that she makes by hand in the comic books).
https://twitter.com/BRMarvelNews/status/1329534983623614466It was confirmed by Marvel Studios that Brie Larson will be reprising her role as Captain Marvel in the series, and that Ms. Marvel would be making appearances in future Marvel productions. Whether we can expect to see Larson on set is still in question, but if there are no COVID-19 related delays the series could begin wrapping up production by March 2021, therefore allowing a late 2021/early 2022 release onto the Disney+ streaming service.
