According to Deadline, Paramount Pictures are looking to broaden the A Quiet Place franchise. The studio has tasked Jeff Nichols (Take Shelter) to write and direct the third installment. Deadline has also said that the third film is actually based on an idea from John Krasinksi.
While A Quiet Place Part 2 has been delayed thanks to Covid-19, the studio are planning to push the third film for a 2022 release. The second film is due to be released in April 2021- it was originally set for March 20th 2020.
In terms of details, that is all we have as of now. If they are looking to expand the universe it’s likely that we’ll be moving away from the Abbott family. This third film could potentially focus on another family either during the initial monster-takeover, or once their weakness has been fully exploited. Obviously, no one knows what happens in A Quiet Place Part 2 so the climax of that film could be the key to understanding what a connected Universe could look like. Either way, it looks as though they have plenty to work with.
Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller are set to produce the third film via Platinum Dunes alongside Krasinki’s Sunday Night Productions. Allyson Seeger will also serve as the executive producer.
When more information regarding this incredibly exciting development, we will be sure to let you know. A Quiet Place Part 2 is set to hit theaters in April 2021.
