Earlier today we brought you the electrifying first look trailer for Ridley Scott’s Gladiator II. The film, which comes to cinemas in November has now also received a series of cool character posters and an official synopsis from Paramount Pictures.
Alongside the trailer released earlier today the studio has now debuted an official synopsis for the film which reads:
From legendary director Ridley Scott, Gladiator II continues the epic saga of power, intrigue, and vengeance set in Ancient Rome. Years after witnessing the death of the revered hero Maximus at the hands of his uncle, Lucius (Paul Mescal) is forced to enter the Colosseum after his home is conquered by the tyrannical Emperors who now lead Rome with an iron fist. With rage in his heart and the future of the Empire at stake, Lucius must look to his past to find strength and honor to return the glory of Rome to its people.
We also have new looks Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal and the rest of the film’s principal cast through a series of new character posters which have just been revealed on social media:
Ridley Scott directs Gladiator II from a screenplay by Scarpa, based on a story by Scarpa and Peter Craig. Starring in the film is Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Fred Hechinger, Lior Ray, Derek Jacobi, Connie Nielsen and Denzel Washington.
Gladiator II comes to UK cinemas from November 15, 2024.
