One of 2018’s surprise blockbuster hits was Warner Bros. The Meg. The film, starring Jason Statham and Ruby Rose, grossed a huge $530m worldwide based off a modest $130m budget. Now, it seems Warner Bros. is looking to get back in to the water.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio has tapped Kill List director Ben Wheatley to headline a currently-in-development sequel. Wheatley is no stranger to working with WB, he’s currently preparing to shoot the sequel to 2018’s Tomb Raider with Alicia Vikander.
