Finally after many years of waiting we are finally set to go back to the magical world of Willow, albeit on the TV screen this time as Disney+ have announced they have begun production of the sequel to the epic 80s film and are bringing it exclusively to their streaming platform.
More good news is that actor Warwick Davies will once again take on the starring role of Willow Ufgood, the story is set a few years after the original film so we will see an older Willow returning alongside new characters. The series will be the first time Lucasfilm has been involved in a non Star Wars project since 2015.
The production plans to return to the dramatic and enchanted landscapes of Wales, where much of the original film was shot.
The original film director, Ron Howard, will be the shows executive producer and will work alongside Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians) with Jonathan Kasdan and Wendy Mericle to serve as the shows runners.
There are no official words as yet to the plot or any story line, also no official release date has been announced.
