Following the news that Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany had been cast as the lead in Marvel’s She-Hulk series, news has been quiet. But now Maslany has broken her silence on the casting with some unexpected news.
In a new interview with The Sudbury Star (via CBM) Maslany has flat out denied the casting news, writing it off as pure rumour.
“That actually isn’t a real thing and it’s like a press release that’s gotten out of hand,” said Maslany. “It’s totally not — I’ve been connected to these things in the past and press has gotten onto it, but it’s not actually a thing, unfortunately.”
“Yeah, I don’t know how these things get — I don’t know, I don’t know,” she added. “You know better; I have no idea. (Laughs.)”
There’s every chance this denial comes because Marvel Studios has yet to formally announce the casting. Or it could be that we all got it wrong.
She-Hulk is due to enter production early in 2021.
