According to a new report from Deadline, television series including Riverdale and Batwoman pause production due to a delay in Coronavirus testing results.
It’s only been around a month since productions in the Vancouver area have been able to restart. But with demand for regular testing so high it seems suppliers are unable to keep up with demand.
Shows including including Riverdale, A Million Little Things, Charmed, Batwoman, The Mighty Ducks, Nancy Drew and Maid, have been idle for several days now or are said to be in the process of shutting down because of delays of as much as 72+ hours in receiving COVID-19 test results for their casts and crew.
To make matters worse The CW was set to being production on the latest seasons of The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow this week alongside the final season of Supergirl. All those production starts have now been delayed.
Multiple sources have reported to Deadline that the test situations is “a mess.” With labs either failing to turn around tests or failing to even administer them due to the level of demand. There are no reports of cast or crew testing positive, but without test results the chance of exposure is too great to allow production to continue.
We’ll keep you posted on when everyone is able to get back to work.
