As one Kryptonian enters the fray another is hanging up her cape. The CW and Warner Bros. have tonight announced that Supergirl will be coming to an end in 2021 with season six.
Variety broke the news just moments ago confirming that the network and the producers have come a join decision to end with the upcoming 20 episode season.
Supergirl’s writers are said to be deep in to crafting storylines for the final run of episodes which are entering production as we speak. The network is aiming to premiere the sixth and final season sometime in 2021.
The CW is also just beginning production on another Kryptonian based show as Superman returns to the small screen in Superman & Lois.
Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist, David Harewood, Mehcad Brooks, Katie McGrath, Jesse Rath, Nicole Maines and Chyler Leigh. The series airs on The CW in North America, Sundays at 9/8c.
