Ms. Marvel (Marvel Comics)

After a long wait for an update on Marvel’s next project, Ms. Marvel, we finally have some exciting news. According to Deadline, Marvel have found their Ms. Marvel.

Newcomer Iman Vellani is set to star in Ms. Marvel as Kamala Khan. Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has said that while Kamala will debut on the small screen, she will eventually be included in future films on the big screen. Kamala Khan is a Pakistani-American teenager from New Jersey who has the ability to grow and shrink parts of her body. Donning her suit, she becomes Ms. Marvel- inspired by Carol Danvers. Eventually she becomes a member of the Avengers and takes on much larger threats.

Lets welcome Iman Velanni to the MCU!

This will mark Vellani’s first major production. Lets face it, appearing in the MCU is no small feat. So good luck to her. Joining such a massive universe is sure to be rather daunting. In terms of diversity, we think the inclusion of Vellani will mean a lot to a wide range of audiences. We can’t wait to see how Vellani takes the role and makes it her own.

Ms. Marvel has become a rather popular character. Bouncing off from the Marvel’s Avengers game where she played a pivotal role as the emotional centerpiece, it’ll be great to see her popularity grow even more. It’s also a massive relief to just see Marvel progressing with the series. We haven’t had many updates but this is a great step forward.

Ms. Marvel will be written by Bisha K. Ali, with episodes directed by Meera Menon, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. The series will join Disney+ in the future along with The Falcon & The Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki and Hawkeye.
