Universal Orlando is going Jurassic with their brand new and upcoming roller coaster centering on our favourite two-legged dinos. The Jurassic World VelociCoaster was announced by Universal yesterday with a teaser trailer for the new ride. The ride will be the newest addition to the Jurassic Park area that currently features the Jurassic Park River Adventure and a raptor encounter.
Check out the official description straight from Universal Orlando!
Step into Jurassic Park and stand in awe and wonder at a land transformed by science after 65 million years. But don’t be deceived by the island’s beauty because danger lurks behind every corner. Only here can you live the adventure of coming face to face with giant creatures of the Earth’s past, encounter raptors roaming every day, or take a daring raft expedition through jungles teeming with dinosaurs. For those brave enough to visit the raptor paddock, you may be able to carefully approach one of these deadly predators. Then feel the rush of the hunt as you race through the jungle alongside raptors on the Jurassic World VelociCoaster, a new species of roller coaster coming Summer 2021.
According to reports, the coaster will go up to 70 mph and will feature 4,700 feet of track. Among the exciting twists and turns that will turn the bellies of the most hardcore coaster fans is a 360-degree barrel roll and a daunting “top hat”. Are you ready for this? The riders will be propelled 155 feet into the air… then plunged into an 80-feet drop. Even that sentence made my stomach turn.
The newly released teaser trailer features a conceptual rendering of how the coaster will look and feel. It looks pretty spectacular. However, it is a no from me. I have never been a fan of roller coasters (I’m sorry), but I won’t lie, the teaser video did make me smile a lot.
Good Luck
