Deadline is reporting that Amazon Studios, Skydance TV and Paramount TV Studios have found the leading man for their upcoming Jack Reacher series.
According to the trade, Titans and Blue Mountain State actor Alan Ritchson as landed the coveted role. But fear not Titans fans, the trade reports that Ritchson will maintain his regular status on the DC Universe series.
Jack Reacher is based on the character from Lee Child’s international bestselling series of books. The first season of the series, written, exec produced and showrun by Nick Santora, is based on the first novel in the series, The Killing Floor, which is set in Georgia.
Reacher, known for his towering 6’5″ height in the books, was previously played by Tom Cruise in two movies: 2012’s Jack Reacher feature and the 2016 sequel Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.
Standing tall at 6’4” and weighing 235 pounds, Ritchson is fits the bill for playing the U.S. Army veteran turned investigator.
In addition to Nick Santora, author Lee Child, Don Granger, Scott Sullivan and Christopher McQuarrie will be executive producing, with David Ellison and Dana Goldberg executive producing for Skydance. Marcy Ross also serves as an executive producer. Carolyn Harris oversees the series for Skydance Television, which produces with Amazon Studios and Paramount TV Studios.
There’s no news on when Jack Reacher will hit our screens as yet. Ritchson is set to begin production on the third season of Warner Bros. Titans later this month.
