Earlier this year we all heard a rumour that Warner Bros. Animation was working on a new Batman film called Soul of the Dragon. Now the rumour, first covered by GWW has been proven correct.
Warner Bros. (via THR) has announced the film is due for release in spring 2021 and give us a first look at the main cast list.
Grimm star David Giuntoli will make his debut voicing Bruce Wayne/Batman alongside Mark Dacascos as Richard Dragon, Kelly Hu as Lady Shiva, Michael Jai White as Ben Turner/Bronze Tiger, James Hong as O-Sensei and Josh Keaton as Jeffrey Burr.
Batman: The Animated Series creator Bruce Timm will executive produce the film alongside director Sam Liu. Jeremy Adams (Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge) penned the script.
The film, set in the 1970’s is an original tale, rather than based on a specific comic book storyline, that sees Bruce Wayne face a deadly menace from his past with the help of three former classmates: world-renowned martial artists Richard Dragon, Ben Turner and Lady Shiva.
