Today is a big day for Star Trek fans. The latest series in the current Trek Universe, Star Trek: Lower Decks, debuts today on CBS All Access.
The animated series comes from Mike McMahan, one of the creative minds behind hit adult-comedy series Ricky & Morty. In case you’ve missed out on the hype for this show here’s a look at the opening scene from today’s episode:
Star Trek: Lower Decks will focus on four ensigns serving on a “not very important ship” in Starfleet. As with all Trek shows past, this is about family.
The ten-episode first season will debut new episodes weekly on CBS All Access. The series will also air on Bell Media in Canada, debuting new episodes the same day as CBS All Access.
We await news on when and where the show will air internationally.
The series looks set to include a number of Star Trek: The Next Generation legacy characters across the season. Who would you like to see turn up on the USS Cerritos?
Star Trek: Lower Decks stars No’l Wells as Ensign Tendi; Eugene Cordero as Ensign Rutherford; Tawny Newsome as Ensign Mariner and Jack Quaid as Ensign Boimler.
