CBS All Access is gearing up for the debut of Star Trek: Lower Decks early next month. The hotly anticipated animated series set the internet alight with the release of its first trailer (below) last week and now we have further casting news for the show.
Deadline has confirmed that actor Paul Scheer will be joining the crew of the USS Cerritos as Lt. Commander Andy Billups, who is the chief engineer. Billups will be a recurring character throughout the ten episode first season.
CBS is expected to debut an extended clip from the series during the Star Trek Universe panel at this week’s Comic-Con@Home event. The panel airs on YouTube starting 10am PST/6pm BST on July 23.
Star Trek: Lower Decks stars No’l Wells as Ensign Tendi; Eugene Cordero as Ensign Rutherford; Tawny Newsome as Ensign Mariner and Jack Quaid as Ensign Boimler.
The series debuts new episodes weekly on CBS All Access starting August 6. UK and international air dates are yet to be announcement.
