The Bad Batch were first introduced in the final season of The Clone Wars. They were a fantastic addition to the final season and many fans were instantly attached. We simply wanted more from them. Well, it looks like the Force is with us today… say hello to Star Wars: The Bad Batch.
The series will follow the elite and experimental clones as they find their way in the galaxy in the post-Clone War era. The Bad Batch will take on daring mercenary missions while trying to find their new calling.
Agnes Chu, senior Vice President, Content, Disney+, had this to say about the upcoming series:
“While the Clone Wars may have come to its conclusion, our partnership with the groundbreaking storytellers and artists at Lucasfilm Animation is only beginning. We are thrilled to bring Dave Filoni’s vision to life through the next adventures of the Bad Batch.”
This may be a jump but we wouldn’t be surprised if Disney push for more animated series like The Clone Wars. However, Fans are still awaiting the continuation of Star Wars: Rebels… Could we see the return of Ezra soon? It’s not clear at the moment but this news could potentially be a sign that things are gradually moving in the right direction.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch will see the return of Dave Filoni as the executive producer, alongside Athena Portillo (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels), Brad Rau (Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars Resistance) and Jennifer Corbett (Star Wars Resistance, NCIS) with Carrie Beck (The Mandalorian, Star Wars Rebels) as co-executive producer and Josh Rimes as producer (Star Wars Resistance). Rau is also serving as supervising director with Corbett as head writer.
This exciting new series will premiere in 2021. Are you excited to see the return of the Bad Batch? Let us know your thoughts in the comments. Check out more news here.
